Singer/songwriter Amy Hart debuts new album EVERY BEAT OF MY HEART at The Boardwalk Café.

The event took place in February at Jack Scott’s Writers Night, at which Hart performed with her band, several selections off the CD including the title cut. The perky, guitar pickin’ rockabilly girl, who also produced the album of her original songs captured the audience with her melodic vocals and seventies’ rock and R & B influenced contemporary country tunes that could also be classified as "solid" Americana. Like the album, she mixed up the show with a variety of slow ballads and up tempo melodies. Stand out cuts include the title song "Every Beat Of My Heart" which is a slow Americana type ballad; "Rockabye", a Southern rockin’ foot tappin tune with catchy lyrics and melody; and "You Left The Light On", which is more in the traditional country vein with a nice waltz feel to it and lyrics that want you to sing along. This could be the hit Ms. Hart is looking for. Beautifully engineered and co-produced by Bart Busch at Station West in Nashville, the CD on indie label Painted Rock Records will be available at Tower Records, Best Buy and Borders Books & Music. Its well worth the listen!

Its no disservice to call Nashville based songwriter Amy Hart's debut recording well crafted because it is in the best sense of the word. Backed by a host of  Nashville session musicians, Hart easily moves from the opening country rocker "Rockabye" to the more traditional country ballad "You Left the Light On" to the slower melodic title track, all sung in her crisp clean vocal style. While clearly aimed at the "new country" market, Hart breaks out of the mold by adding rock and blues influences to the songs as well. Production, arrangements and playing are all first class.         reviewed by Jim Lee

Music that Matters/All Music Guide
reviewed by Bob Gottlieb    For a debut disc this is one to make you open your eyes wide and look around. As much twang as there is in this ladies voice, when she wants to get right on down to it she can rock with anyone. There also shows in her voice and phrasing a good amount of blues influence. The songs are definitely country in feel and sensibility, but they have that little something extra that prevents them from sounding like the vacuous radio hits that pass for country music. The song that comes closest to a 'good old country standard' is "Be That Way", and that shows off her stong voice and lets those rocking influences sneak in there. The songs display a broad and open sense of music in general, and their appeal is much more broad base than the traditional country music. The band playing behind her is tight and stays with her on all the changes doing an admirable job in supporting her and the sound quality is very good. I am intrigued and looking forward to the next disc.
